  1. MODIFYING THE ENVIRONMENT:
  2. --------------------------
  3. The 'JOB COST' application program may require more intensive disk
  4. utilization than other programs you are currently using. DOS permits
  5. you to alter the environment to facilitate this intensive disk
  6. utilization.
  7.  
  8. It is recommended that you create a CONFIG.SYS file (if the file is
  9. not there already) which contains the following two statementes.
  10.  
  11.        FILES=20
  12.        BUFFERS=8
  13.  
  14. INSTALLING 'SERVICE MASTER'
  15. ---------------------------
  16. The diskette that your copy of 'JOB COST' was distributed to you
  17. on should not be used for running of 'JOB COST'. You should first
  18. make a back-up copy of the distribution disk and then install 'JOB
  19. COST' on either your hard disk or floppy disk system.

  21. Before you go any further print the contents of the JCMANUAL file.
  22. This can be done by entering:

  24.       C>COPY JCMANUAL PRN <return>
  25.  
  26. Read the installation instructions contained in the manual contained
  27. on your distribution disk.
